Darkroom introduction & printmaking

If you have little or no experience in developing your own photography, then this is the workshop for you. We’ll take you through everything you need to know and provide all the equipment that you need to create photographic prints. We can even provide beautiful pre-made negatives that you can turn into prints if you don’t have your own 35mm b&w roll of film.

What you'll learn

During the workshop, you’ll learn all about the process of printing, how to prepare your negatives, various printing techniques and then make your own darkroom prints to take home.

  • How to prepare your negatives

  • How to use an enlarger

  • How to prepare the chemistry

  • How to make test strips

  • How to expose & reveal the image

  • How to crop and frame your final print

What you'll leave with

As well as leaving with up to 5 prints and a carry tote, having completed our beginners workshop, you’ll automatically receive a Dark Studio membership card that will allow you to book the darkroom at any time in the future.
